FireFit - Edmonton June 19 & 20, 2010

Perfect weather up in Edmonton while it was flooding down in the Hat for this Open Event on June 18th & 19th. Bob Murray and the Edmonton Fire Combat Team put on a great competition at the West Edmonton Mall and many competitors came from all over to race. Steve Seymour and Josh Hauck from the Medicine Hat Firefit Team went up for the races. On Saturday their Individual times were 01:30.21 with a Force machine penalty and a 02:03.44 with 2 stair penalties and falling with the dummy before completing the race. On Sunday it was relay day with Medicine Hat teaming up with Darren Hillman from Ontario and Ryan Rickards out of Delta, B.C. to create a Misfits team. They made it and won the Bronze Medal race with times of 1:16.96 ;1:17.31; 1:13.52; 1:11.39 and 1:12.62 racing teams from Bonnyville, Chilliwack, Edmonton, Kamloops, and Shell Scottford. Josh and Steve competed in the NXG2 relay and brought home Gold with a time of 01:35.94. Rest up boys, Nationals could be in the near future!

Southern Prarie Regionals - Medicine Hat June 12 & 13, 2010  

What a excellent first Regional event hosted by Medicine Hat on June 12th & 13th, 2010. Thanks goes out to Steve Seymour of the MHFD and Jason Elder from DND Suffield for all their leg work in making this event possible. It of course couldn't have been possible without the financial support of the Medicine Hat Fire Department, Cypress County and Department of National Defense Suffield Firefighter Union. But none of it it could have happened without the numerous volunteers and spectators, you make racing all the more worthwhile! NXG2 times were Michael Arnold and Joshua Hauck with a 01:39.21, Jason Labash and Steven Seymour with 01:40.78,and Chad Hildebrand and Curtis Noble with 02:04.62

Team placed 4th overall with a time of 05:06.03 Team Relays were very exciting to watch, Team 1 included Steve Seymour, Curtis Noble, Jason Labash, Josh Hauck and Michael Arnold. Team 2 consisted of Gregg Schaalje, Chad Hildebrand, Mike Kowalski, Jeff Kozakewich, and Patrick Jerome.

Northern Prarie Regionals - Grand Prarie May 28 & 29, 2010

 A great event hosted by Todd Russell and the Grande Prairie Fire Department on May 28 and 29, 2010. Our first Regional event of the season and an opportunity to squeek the rust of of some of our legs and try to unleash the Energizer bunny on a real course for the first time!

 Medicine Hat Firefit Team represented us proudly with Indivual times of Steven Seymour 01:28.50; Michael Arnold Medicine Hat 01:41.38; Jason Labash 01:50.57; and Curtis Noble 02:32.78. Josh Hauck on the injury reserve. Total team time was in 4th place with a 05:00.45. NXG2 FireFit Relay Results brought home the Gold and Silver medals with 1. NXG2 Medicine Hat #1 Jason Labash and Steven Seymour with a 01:42.60 and Medicine Hat #2 Michael Arnold and Josh Hauck with a 01:48.17.
